ECI-400 Sperm Density Mete for Analysis of Semen Density in Pigs
Introduction
The ECI-400 Animal Sperm Densitometer is a portable device designed for boar semen quality testing. It is designed for rapid analysis of semen density (range 0-5 billion/ml) by means of optical measurement technology with 98% accuracy. The sperm density meter measures the sperm density of the boar's raw semen (the number of sperm per ml) and then dispenses it according to the standard dilution ratios (2.5-3.5 billion sperm per vial is recommended.) The 2.4-inch LED screen directly displays the density value, and the pipette and cuvette are used to standardise the sampling process, avoiding manual counting errors. Automatic calibration function reduces environmental disturbances (e.g. temperature fluctuations). The test data can be used to guide the scientific dilution of semen, avoiding wastage due to too high a concentration or too low a concentration, thus optimising the utilisation of the boar and reducing reproduction costs. The automatic switch-off function extends battery life and helps farms to improve breeding efficiency.

How to use
1. We are going to proceed to the counting of the doses with the device. For that, we will place 10ml of the extender solution in each colorimeter bottle.
2. In one of them, we will add 0.4 ml of raw semen using a micro-pipette.
3. We turn on the sperm density meter (on/off) and place the standard bottle (the one with the extended solution only).
4. and determine the base value (which should be 0.0) via the key (ZERO).
5. Next,we take off the bottle standard and replace it for the other one (the one that has extender solution + semen ), previously well mixed, and press the key (READ) obtaining a value.
6. After a few seconds a value appears (the case in the photo), try to find the obtained approximation in the table.
